Meamhair II (#2 of Memory Series)

that night

within my sadness
you joined me in a toast
to honor her memory

i remembered how she
could light up a room
with her smile

you paused and looking
into my eyes
said

just like you?

Like a sap I sit with tears running down my cheeks because I realize [again] how you make cowards of us all. In the end, I promise myself to remember Freda Kahlo, Lee Krasner and Camille Claudel more than the others whose names I've now stricken from verbalization. We give them life, even beyond the womb...sustenance without which they dry up and or drink themselves into places where only big ass artwork makes them feel like somebody.

Hello "Anonymous",

If you are who I think you are, then Thank you, my friend.

Perhaps I'm not so brave and am just insane by exposing myself in this way.

Although there really is no other way for me - this is how I figure things out for myself and if it happens to touch someone else, well, I guess I'm doing something good.

Thanks again for striking those "others" from verbalization...lol.

(Heck, if I really were brave, I would have applied for "that" teaching job, right?)
